Old Country Buffet Incident & Pine Wood Derby
Well Max and I have been working on his Pine Wood Derby Car this past month. We started with a block of pine. I gave Max the orbital sander and let him sand it until it got to a car shape. I held the piece of wood for him. Suprissingly orbital sanders don't hurt that much when they are running and strike your fingers. Yes, I have heard of clamps, I just don't have any. I hope the wheels are on ok, we have weigh in on Friday after basketball and the race is Saturday.
Tonight we took Max and Jake and their two friends to the Old Country Buffet for dinner. I hate the Old Country Buffet. When we got there Jake threw a fit when we made him get green beans. None of the kids wanted to eat the regular food they all wanted to go straight to the dessert bar. Jake finally ate a green bean and we gave up on dinner and they each ate two ice cream cones. At first I tried to organize the children as they came to the buffet but they insisted on doing everything themselves and after a day at work I just gave up. They basically trashed the desert bar. After every lick Jake had to run up and shake more sprinkles out of a canister onto his cone. The canister which everyone had to use was soon covered by his half eaten ice cream. Later the Old Country Buffet Bumble Bee came around and handed out balloons. Jake at that time turned into Triumph the Insult Comic Dog and proceeded to spew insults at the Bee while we were at the table. It was difficult for me to refrain from laughter. I somehow managed, took away his ice cream and lectured him on making fun of people in bee costumes. He then proceeded to make fun of a lady in her pink joggy outfit, while she was in ear shot. At this point Vangie and I both decided we should leave before we were asked to by the managment.
