Go Jake Go.....

Jake had an amazing last T-ball game. He fielded two ground balls while playing the position he likes to call "Pitchers Mountain" and threw the ball to first. The amazing thing was that they were caught by the first baseman in the air and the runner was thrown out. It was only the second and third time I'd seen this happen all year. It's amazing how far all the kids came this year. There were challenging moments but I had a really good time. Attention span is the issue at this level, baseball can be slow. Gotta keep the kids from playing in the dirt and focused on the game. The last couple games of the season we did really well. One game collectively we got 7 outs in four innings.

Jake getting ready to slug one and me getting ready to be hit by a thrown bat. I always tell em "swing hard - you never know when you might hit something." I should have added or someone.

Here Jake, AKA "Mr. Sunshine" is getting ready to perform in the Kindergarten spring musical. I know school is getting ready to end when we start attending the spring musicals. I am lucky enough to have a preview of all the songs as the kids sing them non stop around the house for several weeks prior to the concerts. This year Jake had a starring role as the sun when they sang Zippity du da. As you can see Jake had the sun backwards when he first got up on stage.

All the kids in his class started yelling "turn it!" So he did like a steering wheel on a large sailboat he started turning it clockwise with the white side still facing up. Lucky for him a nearby teacher got things turned around and he did a wonderful job marching left to right across the stage singing the song.
Soccer and T-ball have come to an end as well as school. This coming week the kids start summer camp. Lots of fun to be had and no more homework!
P.S. - I drove by a farm and saw a camel yesterday. Yes a camel in Central PA, stay tuned I'm going back for pictures.
